With bootldr 2.17.7 or newer and kernel 2.4.16-rmk1 hh12 or newer, the
RTC is preserved as long as power is supplied to it.

bootldr 2.18.01 is the currently recommended bootldr. Among other
things, it supports direct restore of wince_image.gz.
