Yes, I had this problem, and posted it on the familiar@handhelds.org list.
I gather it's a bug in ipkg. The author (?) of "ipkg" believes he has
a fix and posted an updated version of "ipkg" (which probably hasn't
made it into the familiar task-bootstrap image quite yet), but as of
his posting hadn't tested it to make sure it fixed the problem.

Since I was keeping a log of the install (via minicom), I had a handy
list of all the ipk's with this problem, and I just reinstalled them
afterwards, after a reboot. In case it's useful for you or others,
here's the list:

# ipkg install gtk-menu
# ipkg install libxft
# ipkg install xlibs
# ipkg install checkers
# ipkg install h3600-utils
# ipkg install xcalibrate
# ipkg install xbase-clients
# ipkg install rxvt-aa
# ipkg install mixer
# ipkg install menu-tiny
# ipkg install libgtk1.2
# ipkg install gtk-engines-thinice
# ipkg install ion
# ipkg install xstroke
# ipkg install sysset
# ipkg install ssh
# ipkg install pikpak
# ipkg install gtk-menu
# ipkg install gtk-theme-thingreeber
# ipkg install loadmeter

Your list might be slightly different if you used task-bootstrap rather
than task-bootserial, but probably not.

Before reinstalling these, there were a lot of problems like missing
symlinks and shared libraries not available (due to the postinst scripts
not getting run).

Cheers,
