1) Did you specify the magic params flag when you created the partition?
2) Is there a specific reason why you need a params partition? (instead
of using the /boot/params file, that is).

Subject: [iPAQ] Flash reconfig using bootldr 2.18.01 on iPaq 3835
Hello,
have installed bootldr 2.18.01 on my 3835 iPaq and am having
some difficulty reconfiguring the flash partitions. After boot loader
installation, the original set of partitions were:
bootldr
root
asset
Since there was no params partition, I believe the boot loader
generated the partition map by scanning flash. I then used the
"partition delete" command to remove root and used "partition define" to
create a params partition. After saving the partition table with
"partition save", I reset the iPaq and reexamined the partition table
with "partition show". It looked like this:
bootldr
bootldr
root
params
asset
bootldr
It appears that there might be a conflict between the
auto-generated partition table and the partition table stored in the
params partition. If so, is there a way to prevent the boot loader from
corrupting the partition table? Perhaps someone has another idea as to
what is causing this problem and a potential solution.
Thanks,
Mike Morgan
