The v1 twiddler was a serial device, but I don't think it's available any
more.
is there any reason why remapping the pins with one of the ps2->serial
converters
wouldn't work? Nothing coming out of the twiddler is anything more than
ASCII codes.
Of course, you may need to do something to strip out the mouse signal etc...
