The way it works for me is to do the connect manually and once the
network to the ipaq is set up (once ssh to the ipaq works, for
example) I enter the ipaq's ip in the Settings dialog in
QtopiaDesktop and then it magically connects. In the recent Qtopia
snapshots the IP of your ipaq has to be in a 192.168.1.x subnet
though (stupid 'security' check) .
