Andrew ,

>>If you're working on a project or for a company where an
officially support Linux distribution would make a real difference,
please send me your thoughts on what you are doing and what the official
Linux distribution should include.<<<
Well here we go :
Full support of 38** hardware (including Bluetooth/MMC slot )
USB Host support via Bluetooth or wired/wireless LAN
Full set of console utilities e.g Lynx , Pine ,Pico , tin , irc
Insignia Jeode JVM preloaded in flash
TELNET (local ) in, SSH out
Direct PalmPilot Hotsync ( killer app !)
RZSZ at runtime
Also it should be possible to have the devices preflashed with Linux ( like SHARP does with their sl5k series )
Official sactioning of Linux also has a large promotional value , can I say "Can you do this on a Palm ? " , signaling that PocketPC is a **REAL** PC and not a glorified electronic adressbook
