[iPAQ] font problems

Hi!

I'm running intimate and managed to (almost) configure the
use of TTF-fonts. My problem is, however, that the Verdana-7
fonts do not come out quite right on the screen. Some of the
font is very light grey, whilst some other parts are truly black.
This makes them hard to read.

My /root/.Xdefaults contains:

Rxvt*font: Verdana-7:minspace=true:charwidth=5
Rxvt*geometry: 55x15
fscrib*overrideRedirect: true

Now, is this a known problem and is there a cure for this?
