Hi!
I'm using a compaq 3630, with a 28F640J3A chip. I had installed v2.07ppc2002, and wanted to go back to 1.77. I was told how to use ur programme.
I did as i was told (its all written exactly at the bottom of the emial), and when i used hyper terminal to transfer over the first files, i got a weid message saying...
"programming flash...erasing...
eraseSector error
sectoraddress=00c00000
flashcontents=e58d5064
status=00a200a2
timeout=01312cfc
erase error"
What should i do!?!?! Please please please help!

This is what i was told to do

As always, serial is much more complicated than USB. Copy the included BootBlaster_1.6.exe and bootldr.bin to your iPAQ's
'My Document' directory.
- Start the BootBlaster on your iPAQ and select 'Flash->Program->Yes' and then select the bootloader.bin file.
- After flashing BootBlaster verifies your ROM, you should get a 'You appear to have a valid bootloader' message
- We will now start the Linux 'parrot'. While holding the keypad down, reset your iPAQ. You will get a Linux screen.
- Now disable active-sync serial connection.
- Connect your iPAQ with the serial cable to your PC and start hyperterm (Settings: 115000, 8, N, 1)
- Press return in hyperterm, you should see the 'boot>' prompt of your iPAQ in hyperterm now.
- Make sure the bootldr flash sector is protected:
type: qflash 2 , should print 00010001.
Otherwise, protect the flash sector manually. Type: pflash 0 0xffff 1
- Now we begin flashing the new rom to the iPAQ, every file will need about 15 minutes to transfer. Wait until the iPAQ has
erased, written and verified every single rom file
Type: load flash 0x00c00000 , in hyperterm and then start the xmodem upload of the file 'flash_00c00000.bin'
Type: load flash 0x00800000 , in hyperterm and then start the xmodem upload of the file 'flash_00800000.bin'
Type: load flash 0x00400000 , in hyperterm and then start the xmodem upload of the file 'flash_00400000.bin'
- phew, this is slow... hehe
- now we have to disable the write protection of the bootloader:
Type: set override 1
Type: pflash 0x0 0x0 0
Type: load flash 0x0 , in hyperterm and then start the xmodem upload of the file 'flash_00000000.bin'
