I've thought about a better backlight control system as my next small
program. yes, you can do all that, the "bl" program can be used by
scripts or such.
I would also like to have different (saved) bl settings for battery and
external power modes. there's not much point in saving energy when
you're on external, but in battery mode I don't want the bl unless I
need it.
