[iPAQ] Installing Linux on My Ipaq 3650

I have followed the instructions on installing Linux on my PDA.

When holding down the Pad and Resetting I get the Penguin screen which
says push the Calendar button or the Q button
The instructions say to push the calendar button, but nothing happens.
I am using a USB connection.
How do I get around needing a serial cable connection to Terminal into
it?
