hi,
just upgraded to the 0.5 version, thinking I would give it a go, (3630) and
put the unit onto the network... unfortunately I don't have access to the
wireless lan that I was using previously, and intended to use a wired 3com
megahertz card out of a laptop. unfortunately the ipaq doesn't detect the
card insertion... I can't see the card using cardctl either. I have also
tried 0.5.1, with the same results. ... the megahertz card runs on my
laptop (2.4.14) as a 3c59x. [jacket p/n is 173396-001 - ie the ?original
pcmcia one]
am I correct in thinking that since the cardctl is (apparently) unable to
query the card, the configuration & driver selection will also be invalid?
is this likely to be something that can be forced using memory addresses
and a generic driver?
the bootup loading of the jacket renders:
h3600-sleeve init_module successful init major= 0 irq=48
h3600_generic_sleeve Linux Kernel Card Services 3.1.22
options: [pm]
h3600_sleeve_insert: vendorid=0x0 devid=0x0
... and the cardmanager seems reasonably happy with it....
cardmgr[77]: starting, version is 3.1.22
cardmgr[77]: watching 2 sockets
On a separate topic, I am looking at the new bluetooth/compactflash
"Bluetooth Jacket with CF Slot ...
Part Number 232568-021" as a more "appartment & mobile stuff" friendly
connectivity option - what is the status of support for a) this jacket, and
b) bluetooth in general (I know that bluetooth is in the kernel CVS, but I
don't know if it is yet in the familiar distro.)
any help with either of the above would be most useful
