Why not use the entire screen as a scribble pad (Compleatly transparent window),
activated and deactivated by a button press? Then, you would waist NO screen area
(except perhaps for something that tells you when the OCR is turned on)? You could
also fix your focus issues this way (transparent window on top without focus).
