Don't let Peter hear you say that... :-)

The version at the show that was rotated 90 degrees so that it could
work in portrait mode used a pretty crude hack to get it to work in
time for the show.

Peter had previously made the assumption when writing fgl that the
screen orientation would always match the memory orientation (which
doesn't hold true on the iPaq). So he's got a bit of work to do
there.

I didn't see X running in portrait mode yet (not to say it hasn't been
done yet, I don't know).

And Peter's story on the video demo (which ran in landscape) is:

  The video demo was a bit "jerky" because I didn't check the mpeg
  decoder makefile (the decoder uses FGL to directly render into the
  framebuffer, simulating chroma-keying). There was a "-fno-inline" in
  there! Replacing it by "-O2" speeds up the framerate about 30% on
  i386, and the same is probably true for the iPAQ.
