[iPAQ] file transfer between ipaq and desktop

I am trying to put some files from my desktop onto my ipaq(linux). What
would be the best/easiest way to do that? I am trying to set up a point to
point network connection to ftp files back and forth. Is that a good idea?
Should I be doing something else?
