I was just about to pose the same question. It should be possible, either
now or in the near future, to have a dual (or multi) boot iPaq. Can Linux
now be booted from CE?
If we left the CE stuff in ROM, and added a loader program, could Linux be
booted from a CF card (one as small as 32MB should be big enough)? Would
it be possible for both CE and Linux to use the RAM without corruption? It
would be even better if the loader program could be installed in RAM, or
even on a CF card.
Something along these lines, where less "adventurous" iPaq owners could try
out Linux without risking loss of data or damage to their rig would
dramatically increase Linux usage on the device.
So many projects...
OT: Who has the best price (and stock) on the iPaq online right now? Time
to open the change purse...
