The file works fine on the desktop system, though, with what
looks like the same version of mpg123. It must be the sound
driver. One possibility is that my iPAQ is running at a different
speed, possibly messing up time-critical code.

Could people post the result of "cat /proc/cpuinfo" for
comparison? Thanks.
