Landscape mode X is a design feature, isn't it? I fiddled with the
window manager settings to find one with a normal-sized font for title
bars and menus. Perhaps anything but the default will work?

I installed using an old Xircom 10baseT card connected to a subnet
outside our firewall on Internet 2. I had a lot of trouble making
contact with the server the first time I tried, and had to reset the
iPAQ in order to try again. It looked like there were too many
concurrent users and the script wasn't handling that particular error
gracefully. It worked better the next day, although I did see some
messages about things not being found stream by.
