Hello,

When you put bootldr to SD, it should write ~200kB (well, the size of
bootldr-1.2.3.rom) to the card. So 400 bytes sounds a bit strange. Is it
really 400 _bytes_ ? I think you mean 400 'records'.

Furthermore, if the bootldr correctly flashed, you should be able to use
serial port, getting a command prompt where you can set/start things
even if there is no system on SD, CF, internal flash...

So I suggest you to double check whether bootldr flashed successfully.
And your serial cable. Do you use 'serial' cable? As far as I know, the
bootloader is not accessible with the USB cable (the one which is the
usual accessory for hx4700 (the cradle with USB connector))

If you have no legacy serial cable, you would prefer to buy it (an
original HP Y cable (USB + serial) costs about 10-20 EUR. It is a big
help if you want to try things with you hx4700.

I have no other idea at the moment.

BRGDs,

PS: Anyway (I think) Mega Byte (international) is more understandable
for lot of us than Mega Octet (French), even the latter seems more
precise :-)
