Re: How to boot a kernel NOT in the internal flash

Albes,

I'm booting a kernel on CF card, with a filesystem on SD. (Need the CF slot
for GPS)

The menu.lst line is:

title SD card (zImage-2.6.21-hh16)
kernel /boot/zImage-2.6.21-hh16
params root=/dev/mmcblk0p1 rw rootdelay=5

The kernel is in /boot on the first partition (FAT16 formatted) of a CF card;
when writing to it mount it as "-t vfat" - I've previously had problems with
long filenames and case being lost when mounted as msdos.

I've deleted the "params" file from the CF card as it appears to override the
params in menu.lst
