Hi,

When I tried to boot openmoko (the kernel is the same as other hx4700
distros), the sd card rootfs was activated with root=/dev/mmcblk0
rootdelay=<some small integer here, I used 5 (seconds)>

the rootdelay option allows the sd controller to finish its initialization
before attempting to mount the rootfs.

You can also try to pass the direct device number root=fe00 (mmcblk0:
major=254, minor=0), but I remember that rootdelay was the key.

Hope this helps,

Sebastien.
