kernel build problem

Hi,

I down loaded HP hx4700 kernel 2.6 package and built the kernel using
the following simple step:

Make hx4700_defconfig
Make

I loaded zImage together with opie to the iPaq. The screen came up, but
the touch-pen didn't work.

Any people can give a suggestion what's problem might be?
