Bootldr question

I'm trying to get the bootldr-1.2.4 copied to the SD card. I don't have a
card reader for my linux system so I'm using windows and the windows ported
dd to do it. It copies but does so with an error:

205,216Error reading file: 87 The parameter is incorrect

400+1 records in
400+1 records out

The card can't be read by my windows any more and the hx4700 ignores the
card is there.

I've tried cygwin dd, but that won't work because it says that my SD card
mount is a directory and won't copy anything.

Any help here would be very much appreciated.
