Just to clarify, I don't mean don't use the HTC boot loader's flash
utility. There is a reflashing utility in the second stage boot loader
(bootldr), and that's the one you should not use.

The newer bootldr that fixes this problem has been uploaded to the
starterkit directory:
http://sdgsystems.com/pub/ipaq/hx4700/starterkit/20050416/

You can recognize this bootloader if you have a serial port with this
line in the banner that is printed at boot time:
