The HTC bootloader is in flashable ROM, so there is a possibility of it
getting clobbered, but I'm confident that the HTC bootloader will not
clobber itself. As it stands, I have reflashed bootldr and the
kernel/initrd at least a couple dozen times with HTC to get linux up and
running. If you use our bootldr to reflash, there is a much higher
probability of clobbering something vital (although I have done a little
of it successfully). But if you don't reflash with our bootldr yet, the
risk is much reduced.
If you don't want to reflash, you can still use haret and boot linux off
a CF card.
In either case, you'll want to backup our ROM on an SD card bigger than
128MB before doing anything.
