Hi Guys,

I have recently bought a hx4700 and have just today tried to make a serial
cable for it and run linux using the latest initrd, zimage and haret from
the kernel wiki page..

When I run haret, I get tux on the screen with a red thermometer filling up
and then his eyes go bloodshot.. I however am not getting anything on the
serial port..

can someone confirm the correct serial settings, I am using 15200, 8N1, no
flow..

I actually suspect that my cable pinout may be incorrect, I based it off
http://opdenacker.org/pda/ipaq/connector/ipaq_connector.png as I had a spare
power connector lying around. However, I have also tried to get the HP
serial bootloader up, but when it comes up it sats HP blah blah Serial.. but
when I plug my cable in it changes to USB, and goes back to serial only if I
remove my cable..

so, is there anyone who can confirm that those serial pinouts are correct, I
have also assumed that the serial cable is designed to be a DB9 Female which
plugs straight into the serial port of the computer, i.e. no NULL modem
crossover necessary..

Regards,

Paul Solomon
