thanks, that was the the point. now I could successfully reflash the new
kernel. but.. touchscreen is not working anymore!

I'm _sure_ modules are right (I securecopied them from the rootfs from
starterkit page), and in fact everything else seems to work.. may it be
that some modules are missing? lsmod tells me:
