Well, all things considered, I may eventually proceed first with a quick
and dirty "ifdef MACH_H4700" in ipaq-asic3.h, which minimizes the impact
on existing code.

The thing is we need to have this baby up and running as quickly as
possible. We have a unique opportunity to bring a fully Linux supported
device into the hands of individual and corporate users, which would
still be available on the retail market for at least 6 months and
perhaps 1 year or even more.

We would then have more users, more developers, which would attract more
users and more developers and so on. Sometime in this loop, the
developped applications would attract more device manufacturers, who
would make Linux supported ones!

Of course, I can keep this improvement in asic3 code as a long term goal...
