you could try and replace the rootfs.img with the rootfs.img file that
you can download seperately from http://nw.distl.net/hx2410 (the one in
the tar.gz might have been booted once on my device - the other one is
"clean").

mount -t ext2 -o loop rootfs.img /path/you/want
