hello

thank you for trying the initrd image from my page.

in my first tries i did too many changes. i now found a minimum set that
worked on the basis of the images richard purdie provided.

step 1: change the device node for sd
modify the /linuxrc file in the initrd. for the sd card boot you have to
use the devicenode /dev/mmcblk0p1 instead of something like
mmc/blk0/part1. (replace every occurence of it)

step 2: install udevd
-copy udevd, udev, udev_volume_id and udevsend from the /sbin in the
rootfs to /sbin in the initrd (maybe not all of them are needed - i
didn't check that )
-copy the config file (directory) /etc/udev from the rootfs to the initrd
-copy the udev start skrip from the rootfs to the initrd (from/to the
same location) /etc/rc.d/udev
-modifiy the /linuxrc in the initrd to start the udevd before you try to
mount the sd card ( add the line "/etc/rc.d/udev start" )

i think thats it.
