Funny you should ask - I just got interested in working on this again a
day or two ago.

I'm paulproteus on the IRC channel.

I think the first best thing to do will be to get Qtopia running; the
Universal patches in the git.asheesh.org should be mostly useful for
Magician. We can base these off goxboxlive's images, or perhaps anyone
else who's working/worked on Universal.

Getting Angstrom (and then OM on top of that) going would be a nice step,
too. I like Qtopia because it works quite well, at least on Uni.

I seem to recall that wake on GSM ring wasn't working - is that memory
right?

I'm happy to help or debug or analyze what needs done. I finally took my
main SIM card out of my Universal running Windows and put it into
something else so I can not feel bad hacking my Magician.

If you want a "next step" for you to take, here's what I suggest (I'm
going to be busy the next day or so):

Review some older Magician images, and see what works. You could perhaps
start from the OpenMoko image at
http://www.linuxtogo.org/~htcpxa/htcmagician/ .

GSM? Suspend/resume? Wake on GSM ring? What's the battery life like
when the phone is asleep? Can it sleep overnight and wake up the next day
without powering off? If it does power off, is the battery drained, or is
instead perhaps some watchdog turning it off?
