Re: Opie image for the 2.6.16 kernel

Hi Paul.
I dont have any diff file. The HTC Universal is supported in the
Openembedded dev branch, but there is a lot of bugs in thoose files.
There are tree files wich are HTC Universal related: The machine file
htcuniversal.conf, wich have several bugs in it,
xanadux-un-2.6_2.6.12.bb wich is fine, and there are commmited a new
file for HTC-PXA smartphones smartphone.conf.
But the machine file and the bb file is based on the 2.6.12 kernel.
The images i build was based on the 2.6.16 kernel. All I did was to
change the source in the bb file and I named it
handhelds-un-2.6_2.6.16.bb , and i also changed the machine file to
replace the kernel modules.

But that is not the main problem with this. The problem is lack of
support in the OE dev branch.
I havent made any diff for it, but i have made a patch file wich
replace the files that do not work with the HTC Universal. Like the
hardware keyboard doesnt work with the OE build libqte. I guess it has
something with the patches it aplies when building. You see, i have a
libqte file wich was build for several months ago, and that file
wasent build with any patches and when applying it and replacing the
OE one the keyboard works (with an extra line in the opie file, and a
couple in the tslib.sh file). And there is also a lot of other files i
have to replace to get it to work. But i guess, one day we might have
a image wich is ready to run right after building.
One benefit we have now is that a GPE developer has bought a HTC
Universal, and he has write permissions to the OE source so i guess
things will move forward soon.

BTW, enough about that. if you want, you can have my gpe/ope/rootfs
patch and then you can see what i am changing in the images. Let me
know, and i send them to you.
