Hi Alain,

I guess my assumptions were right as I managed to reproduce what you did
with my latest kernel image.

Here's what I did:

    * Copied HaRET, zImage and startup.txt to my h2200 (see
http://michaelo.free.fr/pda/h2210/HaRET/ for the files I used)
    * Ran minicom on the serial port
    * Plugged in the h2200. The device showed a dialog about the
connection. I decided to hide it (instead of aborting it... I
don't know what the exact messages in English are: I've got a
      French version of PocketPC).
    * Started HaRET, which automatically loaded the startup.txt file and
displayed a penguin with a thermomether with the red liquid
filling it up to the top (I didn't see any green color)
    * I got more than you did on the serial console:

CLIENTCLIENTCLIENTCLIENTCLIENTCLIENTCLIENTCLIENTCLIENTCLIENTCLIENTCLIENTCLIENT
CLIENTCLIENTCLIENTCLIENTCLIENTCLIENTUncompressing
Linux.........................
...... done, booting the kernel.

Error: a

That's at least more than I guess for the telnet connection, but that
can't be considered as booting yet.

I'm reading more about initrd. I guess we need one too...

Andrew, don't hesitate to give us advice on debugging very early
kernels. Of course, you're welcome to join the list!

Cheers,

    Michael.
