installing programs on flash

Hi,

Just a simple question. I have an SA-1110 board which has flash memory. I have successfully flashed linux blob, but I am not sure how to flash individual files so that i can make changes to files permanent and also upload files. It's a newbie question so any clear directions would be greatly appreciated.
