OK, so I attempted a restore to WinCE tonight on my iPAQ. I had made the
appropriate .bin files when I installed PocketLinux v0.16 RedHat binaries
and tried to restore them about two hours ago.
The 00x0c00000 file didn't restore correctly no matter what I did, giving a
flash write error at 00xFFFFC0. The other files restored correctly, however.
My iPAQ is now completely useless - no way to get to it from a serial cable,
no boot screen, nothing. I know not everyone has been successful with the
restore. Does anyone have any idea what to do when this occurs? Is it time
to send it back to Compaq as defective? Do I now have a lovely shiny
paperweight for my desk?
