CF Ethernet performance?

Is it just my new Hawking Tech CF Ethernet card that's slow, or are
all CF Ethernet cards slow? I'm flash-pinging it using pdtstnet from
a DOS machine, and I'm getting 82% packet loss. And this is with a
10ms delay between packets, and only 2Mbps load on the Ethernet.
That's pathetic. Even a 33 Mhz 386 can keep up with 10Mbps Ethernet,
and yes, this is using an NE2K clone, so it's unfair to lay this at
the feet of the ns8390 bugs.
