First off, I've been lurking a few days, so I'll introduce
myself as this is the first message I've sent to the group.

I'm Hal Schechner, and I run PalmStation.com (shaddup Hal,
you're not at a 12step meeting). I was at the PocketPC
'seminar' thing that the geek.com article you pointed to
talks about (in fact, I helped write the article, I'm
the same Hal Schechner from PalmStation.Com thats in there
;) ).

We *did* get to see the Stinger (although we couldnt take
pictures, and we didn't get any play-time). We did get
an iPaq and an HP Jornada. The iPaq (and the interest
I had in seeing linux run on it) is what brought me to
handhelds.org, and then to this list.

They didn't give us any real info as far as pricing or
release time goes WRT the Stinger, but I have my concerns
about it's use of PocketPC/WinCE/Whatever-name-they-use-today.
IMHO, the PocketPC interface does not translate well to
a non-touch screen environment (the Stinger is *not*
touchscreen. It uses various buttons for interaction
with the OS, and the phone buttons for data entry. [IE:
Press 2 once for 'a', two times for 'b' etc... along with
some word completion that allows you to press once for 'b'
assuming the next letter uniq-ifies the word as a 'b'-starter.
(ok, that was hard to understand, but you get the idea)

Anyway, figured I'd give my input on the stinger and let
you all know I was here ;)
