Surely if you're running the application on the PDA and exporting it to
the workstation, the fonts available will depend on the X server running
on the workstation, won't they?

I know I've done that here, exporting apps from the handheld to my X
Window server on my desktop, and I've had the choice of all the fonts
that the local X server has.
