Yep, this is what I'm still hearing ... Compaq has stopped production,
and as soon as they begin again, they will send out replacements ...

So are these guys here just being left out of the loop ? - or maybe gag
orders are in place ?

Well, to me, it does not matter - I'll wait, and as soon as I find one,
I'll buy - I want the system for it's tech. spec's - I'm not to worried
about a few minor problems - I'm very hard on my gadgets anyway ...
plus, I believe this will be the "wave" of the future (Linux on iPAQ's -
'cause the users don't care about the OS anyway) - So I personally (and
my Co) want to be way ahead on the learning curve software and hardware
wise - I'm NOT going to miss this chance to get in early - this is just
the first one, in another year - everyone will be using Linux ... and I
(we) plan to be neck deep into this market by then ...

I just hope that if they have stopped production, they take the time to
flash/lock a bootloader in while they have the chance ... but I would
venture to guess, that will be a feature of the next model ...

AS A SIDE NOTE: I just got some SPAM from someone who is reading the
list - $600 for an iPAQ - talk about f**king your customers ... don't
send me any more spam dude ...
