Rock & Scroll (serial port plug source?)

I wonder why Compaq didn't include the "rock and scroll" feature in the
iPaq? It looked like it worked pretty good on the itsy.

I was looking at a Palm accelerometer hack here:
http://www.ibr.cs.tu-bs.de/~harbaum/pilot/adxl202.html . Would it be that
easy to attach that chip to the iPaq? Just hook it up to the seral port and
you have a built in "mouse".

What kind of driver does the itsy use? Is it a mouse driver?

Is it possible to buy seral port connectors from Compaq?
