Greetings,
I'd like to announce the availability of v0.1 of Mingle, the contact
manager, based on the Python ``Familiar Framework''. It's in its infancy,
but it supports some of the following features:
* Editing and viewing individual contact information, including: email
addresses, JPEG photos, phone numbers, physical addresses,
and birthdates.
* Searching based on name components (e.g. first, middle, and last).
* It supports saving contact information to ``disk'' (hey, we needed
a third bullet item).
Mingle serves as the proof of concept, and test bed, for the different facets
of the Familiar Framework. People who worked on putting together this release
where: Gareth Greenaway (development), Dave Guy (QA Labrat), and Myself
(development). We'd like feedback, so feel free to comment. The source
can be obtained from the following locations:
http://www.andern.org/~a7r/ipaq/familiar/framework-v0.1.tar.gz
http://www.handhelds.org/pub/linux/dists/familiar/pre-release/bleeding/framework-v0.1.tar.gz
The latest code is also available from handhelds.org CVS, under
``familiar/framework''. Have fun.
Alexander
