Hi,
Working on the UI of xscribble, and thought it would be wise to poll the
list to see if there are any preferences out there. The main choices boil
down to (and forgive me if I have missed one)
Scribble on screen/text goes to window with focus/change mode between mouse
and keyboard.
Scribble one window/text goes to wigit in window with focus/still need to
change mode if window accepts mouse + keyboard, otherwise automatic.
Click on wigit, scribble wigit pop-up/text goes to wigit tapped on/As above,
still need to change mode if wigit accepts mouse + keyboard, otherwise
automatic.
The other side of the coin are issues like
Should a button be used to change mode, or a hot spot on the screen or a
special stroke.
Should feedback be audio, visual, none, etc.
I would start a wiki but I only want to take a quick pole as I would like to
get started fairly quickly. I have tried to avoid listing pros and cons as
I have a preference and didn't want to bias the feedback I got. Please try
to keep feasibility in mind in your response (i.e. don't suggest anything
about pen pressure as that isn't currently reported by even the hardware,
let alone to the scribble application).
Ian.
p.s. I think something to allow middle and right clicks would also be good.
