Hello Harold;
These are test points on top of the circuit board near the CPU. They look
like little silver dots which are a little bit bigger than a pin head. In
the Lab we use a microscope to solder tiny wires to the test points. The
wires are attached to a connector. The connector is what plugs into the
cable from the JTAG unit.
What you are asking is possible, but it requires serious hardware expertise
and equipment.
