Hello Debby;
in the boot loader at the boot prompt type: set linuxargs "initrd
root=/dev/ram ramdisk_size=16384 console=0"
then type: show
this should verify that linuxargs is correctly set
then type: boot
This should redirect the console to the serial port instead of the frame
buffer.

Subject: Re: [Handhelds] v0.4 kernel, ramdisk
What is your current boot loader, kernel and ramdisk versions?
The kernel and ramdisk are the ones I just downloaded from v0.4. The
md5sum matches for both of them.

55873faad5da281612f2021da1b7864c ramdisk-2-8.gz
I don't actually know what "version" the kernel is, since it won't boot.
The bootloader calls itself 2.06.01 (I got it from the v0.3 download).

The linuxargs is set to "initrd root=/dev/ram ramdisk_size=16384".
The oops happens sometime after the ramdisk is uncompressed (but scrolls by
too quickly for me to read). Perhaps it should echo to the serial console
as well? The last thing the serial says is:
Uncompressing Linux....................................... done, booting the
ker
nel.
