There are a few things I'd advise.

1. Remove the getty on ttyS0 from /etc/inittab.
2. Think about the pros and cons of using a swap file.
Ive had memory cards die because of all the extra writing.
Ive had programs exit when out of memory.

There are a few things I've found not to work.

1. The HPBT foldable keyboard, installing the ?kbd? program should fix
this.
2. Using pppd to continually stay connected, I think we need an
update/patch. I did install a pppd from Debian that should have the
patch, but this is still an issue.

My setup:
I'm using the HP as a GPRS modem for my home Internet connection.
Currently I'm ssh-ing into the HP and using the SOCKS proxy feature.
To increase speed I've been trying to migrate the task of compression
to the workstation. I'd love to use ssh or telnet to export the
serial port to the workstation, but for now I'm tunneling an ssh
connection to a nearby server and using ssh compression.

This all works and I'm able to run a local squid cache and surf the
Internet.

For ssh I'm using autossh and the RTTs cause these to disconnect when
they shouldn't at times. From time to time the USB network connection
has needed to be unplugged. The ppp session is often difficult to
keep connected.

Other notes:

I'd love to see new images built!! Can I assume that there are
Developers working on Familiar and/or GPE? Are there updates that the
current image does not have?

I didn't think about it till now, but I could perhaps repack the image
and fix the hciattach problem. This assumes that there are no updates
to the software included, a frightful thought.

I'm too lazy to setup a build/test environment, but I can assist with
fixing bugs and committing patches to CVS.

What about the new EABI?

One issue is updating stale content, if ppl put up there own sites. I
would have posted what is avalible, but given the current RC bugs I
don't feel like it would be appropriot.

There was a copy of the stuff from aragorn.
