Hi all!

I recently acquired an HP iPAQ 5450 that I'm very interested in
putting Linux on. Currently has PocketPC 2002. I was checking out
the Linux hardware support for the 5450 at:

http://handhelds.org/moin/moin.cgi/HpIpaqH5000
http://handhelds.org/moin/moin.cgi/HandheldsDevices_2fh5400

and was wondering if anyone has a 5450 that they've put Familiar on.
Wi-fi working well is critical to what I want to do with the iPAQ, so
if it kills the battery or works poorly that would be a no-go.

I also understand that the 5450 has a number of firmware bugs that
have been fixed with updates provided by HP. Now, the wi-fi firmware
update is a bit problematic, in that I read that the latest update
enabled WPA, but breaks WEP support. WEP support is also required for
my project; should I stay with the older (but still probably newer
than what's on my device) firmware to keep WEP support under Linux, or
can I use the latest firmware (i.e. Is the new firmware + PocketPC
bad, (maybe Linux + PPC is OK), or is the firmware bad in general?)?
I'd also like to use Opie, if possible.

Anyway, first time in many years on a mailing list, so used to using
forums. Anyone know of there is a support forum for the 5400 series?

Thanks all!

Ken
