  Hello,

few weeks ago I tried to boot one h5550 without battery, following
guides on internet (hold the microswitch which is normally pushed by
battery, interconnected pins 1 and 2 and applied, GND to pin 2 and VCC
to pin 5), but the ipaq didn't boot; I wasn't even able to use JTAG. The
final resolution was that I had to lay battery freely on the pins (so
home-made JTAG connector was still accessible), hold microswitch on the
battery and on the board pressed.

After this magic, ipaq started to boot and I was able to use JTAG. I
noticed that when microswitch battery is pressed, something happens on
PS# pad on the battery. Any idea what exactly is neccessary to bring
h5000 ipaq to live without battery?
