Yesterday night I downloaded h3600 and h3800 GPE OE
images for my h5450 and h3870.
Here are my experiences:
In h5450 after loading 22MB root file, it takes a lot
to load it on boot. After configuring it, most of apps
fails because they can't find /usr/share/local/ .png
files. x-terminal fails a lot. There isn't ifconfig or
similar tools... It seems a bit incomplete for 22MB, I
think.
In h3870, after loading it, I can't calibrate it,
since touchscreen doesn't work at all. Rebooting it, I
get a form to introduce root password, but I can't
since there is no calibration nor touchscreen.
Sad, but after seeing how cool "GPE 2.5 Powered by OE"
logo looks like, I can't use it at all.
One suggestion. What about returning to all root
style? I mean, defining a default root password, so
for a newbie is easy to start.
