Several people have recommended switching from the default at76c503a
wifi driver to the usbvnetr driver form the atmel-usb-modules pkg, so I
gave it a try.
I can load the usbvnetr driver (having disabled the at76c503a drivers),
and then see the i/f:
-bash-2.05b# modprobe usbvnetr
Using
/lib/modules/2.4.19-rmk6-pxa1-hh36/kernel/drivers/net/wireless/atmel/usb/usbvnetr.o
-bash-2.05b# iwconfig eth0
eth0 ATMEL RFMD503A ESSID:"" Nickname:""
Mode:Managed Channel:11 Access Point: 00:06:25:E8:58:5B
Bit Rate:11Mb/s
RTS thr=2347 B Fragment thr=2346 B
Encryption key:off
Link Quality:100 Signal level:50 Noise level:0
Rx invalid nwid:0 Rx invalid crypt:0 Rx invalid frag:0
Tx excessive retries:0 Invalid misc:0 Missed beacon:0
but attempts to configure it cause a hang. e.g:
iwconfig eth0 essid myID channel 11 mode Managed key restricted
every time (sing the same cmdline as I did for wlan0 with the at76c503a
driver).
any ideas greatfully appreciated...
-bash-2.05b# uname -a

-bash-2.05b# ipkg status kernel | grep ^Version

cheers,
