h5550: SD/MMC card and sizes

and here's my next silly question...

Can I use either of SD or MMC cards in the h5550?

I thought I'd read elsewhere that SD support wasn't possible, owing to
lack of open source code and pressure from the SD Assoc, and that only
MMC cards would work. Yet I seem to see mails on this list suggesting
that SD cards do work (or I may be reading wrongly).

So, if both SD & MMC are available, which is "better" - I'm not really
sure of the differences - and is there a current limit on card size?
