Hey folks,
Wondered if you could spare a little time to help a Familiar newbie.
I've been a Linux user for many years but recently bought an iPAQ 5450
and wanted to get Familiar up and running.
I've done this once already, and got a working GPE session going. Really
liked it but the main problem is the annoying suspend/resume bug in the
current Familiar kernel. Unfortunately had to reflash PocketPC back on
because the device wasn't really usable.
I saw notes on using ipkg to install a new kernel (36.9?) which
apparently eliminates this bug - however I have no way getting a direct
connection to the Internet from my iPAQ (no expansion packs, and I have
no WLAN or Bluetooth devices yet at home...). I have also tried to set
up USB networking from my Debian laptop but this just made my iPAQ
hang...
I was thinking that I could transfer the kernel and any other required
modules directly to an SD card over serial... I've seen some listed on
ipkgfind but which ones do I need? Can I use ipkg to install local
packages rather than remote ones?
Any help is greatly appreciated.
